Ubisoft is preparing a slew of new games to add to your wishlist now that we’ve officially entered 2024. you might want to focus on Skull and Bones now that it has a firm release date.

The game sends you on a rescue mission for the kidnapped Prince Hassan in a world where “the past coexists with the future”. It’s a semi-open world side-scrolling adventure that promises all of the hack ‘n’ slash platformer goodness of the series’ classic titles, pitting you against vicious beats and enemies of all sizes as you search for the missing royal. Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, an upcoming Ubisoft game, already looks impressive, with plenty of puzzles and mysteries on top of that.

Despite repeated criticism, Skull and Bones remains a swashbuckling pirate RPG that appears to be worth its saltwater weight. This upcoming Ubisoft release is set during the 1700s “golden age of piracy,” with players working their way up the ranks from lowly grunt to fearsome captain of the seven seas by increasing their notoriety and causing mayhem. Skull and Bones was originally announced at E3 2017 and was supposed to be released earlier this year, but its sixth release date delay sent it back to the developers for a final deck swab, and we now know it will be available in February 2024.

XDefiant is Ubisoft’s upcoming free-to-play arena shooter. The developer has only confirmed PC as the platform, but based on our hands-on preview, XDefiant is a surprisingly solid shooter that could compete with some of the best battle royale games available. There is no release date yet, and since the beta ended in April, we’ll have to keep an eye on it until more information becomes available.

Better yet, it occurs between Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi!

Riffing on The Division and set in the same universe, you’ll be battling through a remote wasteland in the aftermath of the same devastating pandemic that underpins the previous two games. It’s neither a sequel nor a DLC, and with both PvE and PvP modes instead of the original’s open world, The Division Heartlands could compete with some of the best free games available.

Following the playtest signups for The Division Resurgence, we received an update during the Ubisoft Forward 2023 event, confirming that Resurgence will be released this fall.

One upcoming Ubisoft game we’d like to take a closer look at is the Splinter Cell remake, which began development in 2021. With Ubisoft Toronto at the helm, the studio wants to “keep the spirit of the early games intact,” which means we can expect the stealth-heavy action gameplay we remember from the 2002 original. It’s also possible to complete the game without killing anyone, but we’ll believe it once we see some gameplay.

Beyond Good and Evil 2 was first hinted at in 2008 and has since become synonymous with development hell. It’s been six years since Ubisoft officially announced it at E3 2017, and with only a few promo shots and press releases since then, it’s unclear whether we can expect any news anytime soon. What we do know is that Beyond Good and Evil 2 is a prequel to the 2003 original, with more open world RPG gameplay, branching narratives, and the option to play solo or multiplayer modes.
